FINAL OUTCOME
PROJECT 1: SUSTAINABLE SYSTEM IN A CITY
INTRODUCTION
For this assignment, students were asked to form a group of 4 where we were to conduct a research on 2 cities One of it being a city good in its sustainability while the other would be a city that is trying to be sustainable. From there, we are then supposed to study the city and its sustainable system. Followed by recommending possible sustainable opportunities extracted from the better city which can then be applied to the city hat is lacking in terms of sustainability
For this assignment, my group had chosen Balikpapan City in East Kalimantan as the city which is trying to improve in its sustainability while Oslo the Capital of Norway as the study for the city with better sustainability
the proposed ideas:
The 2 SDG given to us for the comic was SDG 15 and SDG 16. Above is the comic curated by our group
PROJECT 2: SUSTAINABLE CITY IDEAS
INTRODUCTION
For this assignment, students were asked to design a city suitable for the future ranging from the year 2040-2050. The city is supposed to target issues that will happen during that period and how this new city can help solve the problem. A few things were also taken into consideration while designing the city. That framework would be:
1. Economic Sustainability : Growth Development Productivity
2. Social Sustainability : Equity Empowerment Accessibility Participation Sharing Cultural Identity Institutional Stability
3. Environmental Sustainability : Eco-System Integrity Carrying Capacity Biodiversity
For this assignment, I had chosen to focus my future city near Manilla, Philippine. The city itself is located in the middle of the ocean, isolated away from the city, hunters, loggers and poachers. This city acts as a last resort. A last try in preserving the goodness that is left on Earth. A place where people and nature becomes one. Where it is broken into land and sea. To help the water and life on land. Methods such as sea water desalination, renewable energy, Seaweed farming and many more were used to help generate this New city.
