PROJECT 1: Models and Tattoos: Expression through Design Elements
and Principles
Taylors Graduate Capabilities
For this assignment, we were asked to design 6 models following with it's tattoo stamps based on the 5 elements- Materials, Line, Shape, Mass and Space. Along with the 16 Principles- Balance, Connection, Contrast, Emphasis, Form, Groping, Imagery, Meaning, Symbolism, Pattern, Placement, Proportion, Rhythm, Scale, Unity and Variety. These models were to have a dimension of 100mm x 100mm x 100mm. At the end of this assignment we had a verbal presentation to relate our ideas and concepts towards our assigned lecturer.

Design Elements and Principles are all around us. It is a necessary process needed in design where every art student should know of. This process is the start of every design we have today.
INTRODUCTION
FINAL OUTCOME
PROJECT 1a: Preliminary Studies
INTRODUCTION
The Preliminary Studies is a preparatory assignment that focuses on investigating basic notions of the city, and learning from examples of Community Centre around the world. This assignment aims to firstly introduce students to the basics in urban design and its relation to architecture, and secondly, studying and determining the programmatic function, societal role and spatial layout of an Community Centre and architectural responses for urban blocks.
The Preliminary Studies comprises of three components: Site Documentation, Site Analysis, and Precedent Studies of Urban Blocks and Community Centre. The Site Documentation and Site Analysis will equip students with a firm understanding of the site they will be working with this semester, while the Precedent Studies will provide an insight into architectural responses for
designing an urban block Community Centre.
The outcome of the Preliminary Studies will include the production of site documentation materials (drawings and models in both digital and physical copy for further use), a comprehensive analysis of the site, and a detailed case study of a relevant urban block and Community Centre.
My chosen Urban Study was Jan Gehl. The location of the Site was in Klang Town. In my Point of view, it is a city of complexity filled with surprises due to the many arrays of connectivity through pathways & alleyways found on site.

PROJECT 2: Community Centre
INTRODUCTION
For the final design we were to design a community centre in one of the chosen Site. The site I had chose was in Site B a more secluded area.
